Emphasizing the "feel" of singing is very important when I work with my students.
This is so they can develop a sound that is truly free and truly their own- not a carbon copy of how someone else sounds.
With singing by feeling, singers learn to recreate their good sounds in a performance and can open themselves up to a whole new level of confidence and freedom.
Performance is not just about the voice, compared to in a lesson where you have to clear your mind and focus on the fundamentals such as breathing, posture and increasing your range. Performing live is very different where you have to use all the theory of the voice that you have learned but also create the mood of the song with vocal emotion, facial expressions and your body language. I incorporate all of this into the lessons.
